George F. Jones
George F. Jones, Jr., serves as Managing General Partner of G&M Partners, Ltd. Founded in 1996, the company is involved in various investments.
Jones retired as CEO of Texas Capital Bank and its parent company, Texas Capital Bancshares, Inc. (NASDAQ®:TCBI) on December 31, 2013.
Jones was a founding executive of TCBI in 1998. Since that time, the Bank expanded to have operations in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio, Texas, as well as, California, Illinois and New York with assets of $11.7 billion and an employee base of 1,000. Jones was instrumental in raising $125 million of private capital for TCBI to help take the company public in 2003. In 2008 and 2009, he raised $115 million in common equity for the company enduring extremely difficult market conditions. In July 2012, he completed a successful common equity raise of $87 million.
Jones was the founder, shareholder and director for a successful banking venture between the Bank of Texas and Kazakhstan, Almaty, Kazakhstan in the former Soviet Union.
He has more than 30 years of industry knowledge. His experience includes founding a highly successful banking venture overseas, leading mergers and acquisitions of financial institutions and purchasing financial assets. In addition, he held key management roles with Texas American Bank, Dallas, as president and CEO and vice president and manager of financial institutions with Mercantile National Bank, Dallas.
He is a graduate of the University of North Texas with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and the Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University. Jones serves on the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and is a member of the Audit Committee. He also serves on the board of Caliber Home Loans, Inc. Dallas, Texas, and chairman of the Audit Committee. He is active with the Salesmanship Club of Dallas and a past chairman of the Salesmanship Club Foundation Board of Trustees. Jones currently serves on the Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan of Dallas, Inc.’s board as a treasurer and a member of the executive committee. He was also a member of the Dallas Citizens Council. Additionally, is a past chairman of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Dallas and formerly served on the Baylor Healthcare System’s Board of Trustees.
